Who is the course for? This course is designed for anyone working with or supporting young people—parents, teachers, school staff, health staff, youth workers, coaches, and community leaders.
How is the Youth MHFA course delivered? I offer both online and face-to-face sessions, either two full days or four half-days.
What's the minimum age for Youth MHFA training? Minimum age: 18 years. Exception: 16–17-year-olds can attend if the course is within a school/youth setting and the school requests their attendance, with the parent/carer giving consent.
What will I learn in this course?
You’ll gain practical skills to recognise signs of mental health challenges in young people, respond with confidence, and guide them towards appropriate support. We also cover stigma, communication, self-care, and early intervention strategies.
Is this course suitable if I don’t have a background in mental health?
Absolutely. The course is accessible, jargon-free, and easy to follow. It's suitable for anyone who wants to support young people’s mental health—no previous training or experience is needed.
What age group of young people does the course focus on?
The content is most relevant to those supporting youth aged 8 to 18 years, but the principles can apply more broadly depending on your context.
Do I receive a certificate?
Yes. Upon completion, you’ll receive a certificate of attendance/participation, which can be added to your CPD portfolio.
